The Estate
Grower-producer in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Grand Cru in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, since 1892.
The estate is located at 4 rue de la Brèche d’Oger, in the upper part of the village, opposite Champagne Salon and a stone’s throw from Krug’s Clos du Mesnil.
A historic street, as it was once part of the ramparts of the “Upper Town,” where we have always pressed our grapes, vinified our juices, and aged our Champagne wines.
The Family
A family of vineyard owners and winemakers for five generations. Following Gustave, Louis, Guy, and Philippe Charlemagne, two sisters, Justine and Marie, now preside over the estate's destiny.
The terroir
We cultivate our own vineyard of approximately twelve hectares, primarily located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
17 lieux-dits are spread across 29 plots on the hillside and in the heart of the Le Mesnil Grand Cru terroir.
Old vines —averaging 58 years of age— are propagated using massal selection in named lieux-dits such as Les Chétillons, Les Coullemets, Les Hauts Jardins, Les Mussettes, Mont-Joly, and Aillerand du Midi.
